The journey continues to the Alaverdi Monastery, an eleventh-century marvel founded by Joseph Alaverdeli. The first church in Alaverdi was constructed in the sixth century. The current cathedral was a part of an 11th-century Georgian Orthodox monastery. The day's cultural tour leads us to Tsinandali, the residence of Alexander Chavchavadze, a famous poet and a public figure in Georgian history. Here, we wander through the elegant English Garden and taste a glass of exquisite Tsinandali white wine in the historic wine cellar. Our final stop is Telavi, the heart of Kakheti, where we explore Batonis Tsikhe (Fortress of the Ruler) and the remarkable Giant Plane Tree. The day ends with an overnight stay in Telavi, a town rich in history and charm.
